शालीग्राम Shaligram

Shaligram शालीग्राम

शालीग्राम एक प्रकार का जीवाश्म पत्थर है, जिसका प्रयोग परमेश्वर के प्रतिनिधि के रूप में भगवान का आह्वान करने के लिए किया जाता है। शालीग्राम आमतौर पर पवित्र नदी की तली या किनारों से एकत्र किया जाता है। शिव भक्त पूजा करने के लिए शिव लिंग के रूप में लगभग गोल या अंडाकार शालिग्राम का उपयोग करते हैं।

वैष्णव (हिन्दू) पवित्र नदी गंडकी में पाया जाने वाला एक गोलाकार, आमतौर पर काले रंग के एमोनोइड (en:Ammonoid) जीवाश्म को विष्णु के प्रतिनिधि के रूप में उपयोग करते हैं।

शालीग्राम को प्रायः 'शिला' कहा जाता है। शिला शालिग्राम का छोटा नाम है जिसका अर्थ "पत्थर" होता है। शालीग्राम विष्णु का एक कम प्रसिद्ध नाम है। इस नाम की उत्पत्ति के सबूत नेपाल के एक दूरदराज़ के गाँव से मिलते है जहां विष्णु को शालीग्रामम् के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। हिंदू धर्म में शालीग्राम को सालग्राम के रूप में जाना जाता है। शालीग्राम का सम्बन्ध सालग्राम नामक गाँव से भी है जो गंडकी नामक नदी के किनारे पर स्थित है तथा यहां से ये पवित्र पत्थर भी मिलता है।[1]

पद्मपुराण के अनुसार - गण्डकी अर्थात नारायणी नदी के एक प्रदेश में शालिग्राम स्थल नाम का एक महत्त्वपूर्ण स्थान है; वहाँ से निकलनेवाले पत्थर को शालिग्राम कहते हैं। शालिग्राम शिला के स्पर्शमात्र से करोड़ों जन्मों के पाप का नाश हो जाता है। फिर यदि उसका पूजन किया जाय, तब तो उसके फल के विषय में कहना ही क्या है; वह भगवान के समीप पहुँचाने वाला है। बहुत जन्मों के पुण्य से यदि कभी गोष्पद के चिह्न से युक्त श्रीकृष्ण शिला प्राप्त हो जाय तो उसी के पूजन से मनुष्य के पुनर्जन्म की समाप्ति हो जाती है। पहले शालिग्राम-शिला की परीक्षा करनी चाहिये; यदि वह काली और चिकनी हो तो उत्तम है। यदि उसकी कालिमा कुछ कम हो तो वह मध्यम श्रेणी की मानी गयी है। और यदि उसमें दूसरे किसी रंग का सम्मिश्रण हो तो वह मिश्रित फल प्रदान करने वाली होती है। जैसे सदा काठ के भीतर छिपी हुई आग मन्थन करने से प्रकट होती है, उसी प्रकार भगवान विष्णु सर्वत्र व्याप्त होने पर भी शालिग्राम शिला में विशेष रूप से अभिव्यक्त होते हैं। जो प्रतिदिन द्वारका की शिला-गोमती चक्र से युक्त बारह शालिग्राम मूर्तियों का पूजन करता है, वह वैकुण्ठ लोक में प्रतिष्ठित होता है। जो मनुष्य शालिग्राम-शिला के भीतर गुफ़ा का दर्शन करता है, उसके पितर तृप्त होकर कल्प के अन्ततक स्वर्ग में निवास करते हैं। जहाँ द्वारकापुरी की शिला- अर्थात गोमती चक्र रहता है, वह स्थान वैकुण्ठ लोक माना जाता है; वहाँ मृत्यु को प्राप्त हुआ मनुष्य विष्णुधाम में जाता है। जो शालग्राम-शिला की क़ीमत लगाता है, जो बेचता है, जो विक्रय का अनुमोदन करता है तथा जो उसकी परीक्षा करके मूल्य का समर्थन करता है, वे सब नरक में पड़ते हैं। इसलिये शालिग्राम शिला और गोमती चक्र की ख़रीद-बिक्री छोड़ देनी चाहिये। शालिग्राम-स्थल से प्रकट हुए भगवान शालिग्राम और द्वारका से प्रकट हुए गोमती चक्र- इन दोनों देवताओं का जहाँ समागम होता है, वहाँ मोक्ष मिलने में तनिक भी सन्देह नहीं है। द्वारका से प्रकट हुए गोमती चक्र से युक्त, अनेकों चक्रों से चिह्नित तथा चक्रासन-शिला के समान आकार वाले भगवान शालिग्राम साक्षात चित्स्वरूप निरंजन परमात्मा ही हैं। ओंकार रूप तथा नित्यानन्द स्वरूप शालिग्राम को नमस्कार है।

शालिग्राम का स्वरूप - जिस शालिग्राम-शिला में द्वार-स्थान पर परस्पर सटे हुए दो चक्र हों, जो शुक्ल वर्ण की रेखा से अंकित और शोभा सम्पन्न दिखायी देती हों, उसे भगवान श्री गदाधर का स्वरूप समझना चाहिये। संकर्षण मूर्ति में दो सटे हुए चक्र होते हैं, लाल रेखा होती है और उसका पूर्वभाग कुछ मोटा होता है। प्रद्युम्न के स्वरूप में कुछ-कुछ पीलापन होता है और उसमें चक्र का चिह्न सूक्ष्म रहता है। अनिरुद्ध की मूर्ति गोल होती है और उसके भीतरी भाग में गहरा एवं चौड़ा छेद होता है; इसके सिवा, वह द्वार भाग में नील वर्ण और तीन रेखाओं से युक्त भी होती है। भगवान नारायण श्याम वर्ण के होते हैं, उनके मध्य भाग में गदा के आकार की रेखा होती है और उनका नाभि-कमल बहुत ऊँचा होता है। भगवान नृसिंह की मूर्ति में चक्र का स्थूल चिह्न रहता है, उनका वर्ण कपिल होता है तथा वे तीन या पाँच बिन्दुओं से युक्त होते हैं। ब्रह्मचारी के लिये उन्हीं का पूजन विहित है। वे भक्तों की रक्षा करनेवाले हैं। जिस शालिग्राम-शिला में दो चक्र के चिह्न विषम भाव से स्थित हों, तीन लिंग हों तथा तीन रेखाएँ दिखायी देती हों; वह वाराह भगवान का स्वरूप है, उसका वर्ण नील तथा आकार स्थूल होता है। भगवान वाराह भी सबकी रक्षा करने वाले हैं। कच्छप की मूर्ति श्याम वर्ण की होती है। उसका आकार पानी की भँवर के समान गोल होता है। उसमें यत्र-तत्र बिन्दुओं के चिह्न देखे जाते हैं तथा उसका पृष्ठ-भाग श्वेत रंग का होता है। श्रीधर की मूर्ति में पाँच रेखाएँ होती हैं, वनमाली के स्वरूप में गदा का चिह्न होता है। गोल आकृति, मध्यभाग में चक्र का चिह्न तथा नीलवर्ण, यह वामन मूर्ति की पहचान है। जिसमें नाना प्रकार की अनेकों मूर्तियों तथा सर्प-शरीर के चिह्न होते हैं, वह भगवान अनन्त की प्रतिमा है। दामोदर की मूर्ति स्थूलकाय एवं नीलवर्ण की होती है। उसके मध्य भाग में चक्र का चिह्न होता है। भगवान दामोदर नील चिह्न से युक्त होकर संकर्षण के द्वारा जगत की रक्षा करते हैं। जिसका वर्ण लाल है, तथा जो लम्बी-लम्बी रेखा, छिद्र, एक चक्र और कमल आदि से युक्त एवं स्थूल है, उस शालिग्राम को ब्रह्मा की मूर्ति समझनी चाहिये। जिसमें बृहत छिद्र, स्थूल चक्र का चिह्न और कृष्ण वर्ण हो, वह श्रीकृष्ण का स्वरूप है। वह बिन्दुयुक्त और बिन्दुशून्य दोनों ही प्रकार का देखा जाता है। हयग्रीव मूर्ति अंकुश के समान आकार वाली और पाँच रेखाओं से युक्त होती है। भगवान वैकुण्ठ कौस्तुभ मणि धारण किये रहते हैं। उनकी मूर्ति बड़ी निर्मल दिखायी देती है। वह एक चक्र से चिह्नित और श्याम वर्ण की होती है। मत्स्य भगवान की मूर्ति बृहत कमल के आकार की होती है। उसका रंग श्वेत होता है तथा उसमें हार की रेखा देखी जाती है। जिस शालिग्राम का वर्ण श्याम हो, जिसके दक्षिण भाग में एक रेखा दिखायी देती हो तथा जो तीन चक्रों के चिह्न से युक्त हो, वह भगवान श्री रामचन्द्रजी का स्वरूप है, वे भगवान सबकी रक्षा करनेवाले हैं। द्वारकापुरी में स्थित शालिग्राम स्वरूप भगवान गदाधर।

भगवान गदाधर एक चक्र से चिह्नित देखे जाते हैं। लक्ष्मीनारायण दो चक्रों से, त्रिविक्रम तीन से, चतुर्व्यूह चार से, वासुदेव पाँच से, प्रद्युम्न छ: से, संकर्षण सात से, पुरुषोत्तम आठ से, नवव्यूह नव से, दशावतार दस से, अनिरुद्ध ग्यारह से और द्वादशात्मा बारह चक्रों से युक्त होकर जगत की रक्षा करते हैं। इससे अधिक चक्र चिह्न धारण करने वाले भगवान का नाम अनन्त है।

पुराणों में तो यहां तक कहा गया है कि जिस घर में भगवान शालिग्राम हो, वह घर समस्त तीर्थों से भी श्रेष्ठ है. इसके दर्शन व पूजन से समस्त भोगों का सुख मिलता है. भगवान शिव ने भी स्कंदपुराण के कार्तिक माहात्मय में भगवान शालिग्राम की स्तुति की है.

शालिग्राम का विवाह कराती हैं.

तुलसी दल से पूजा करता है,ऐसा कहा जाता है कि पुरुषोत्तम मास में एक लाख तुलसी दल से भगवान शालिग्राम की पूजा करने से वह संपूर्ण दान के पुण्य तथा पृथ्वी की प्रदक्षिणा के उत्तम फल का अधिकारी बन जाता है. ऐसा कहा जाता है कि पुरुषोत्तम मास में एक लाख तुलसी दल से भगवान शालिग्राम की पूजा करने से समस्त तीर्थो का फल मिल जाता है मृत्युकाल में इसका जलपान करने वाला समस्त पापों से मुक्त होकर विष्णुलोक चला जाता है.

जिस तरीके से भगवान शिव का की पूजा शिवलिंग रूप में की जाती है उसी प्रकार हिन्दू धर्म में भगवान विष्णु का भी एक ऐसा ही रूप है इसे Shaligram (शालिग्राम) कहा जाता है.

Shaligram भगवान श्री नारायण का साक्षात् और स्वयंभू स्वरुप माना जाता हैं। पुराणों के अनुसार त्रिदेव में से भगवान शिव और विष्णु दोनों ने ही जगत के कल्याण के लिए पार्थिव रूप धारण किया। जिस प्रकार नर्मदा नदी में निकलने वाले पत्थर नर्मदेश्वर या बाण लिंग साक्षात् शिव स्वरुप माने जाते हैं और उसी प्रकार नेपाल में गंडकी नदी के तल में पाए जाने वाले काले रंग के चिकने, अंडाकार पत्थर साक्षात् भगवान विष्णु का रूप माना गया है।

Shaligram पूजन करने से अगले-पिछले सभी जन्मों के पाप नष्ट हो जाते हैं। पुराणों में तो यहां तक कहा गया है कि जिस घर में भगवान शालिग्राम हो, वह घर समस्त तीर्थों से भी श्रेष्ठ है। इनके दर्शन व पूजन से समस्त भोगों का सुख मिलता है। भगवान शिव ने भी स्कंदपुराण के कार्तिक माहात्मय में भगवान शालिग्राम की स्तुति की है। ब्रह्मवैवर्तपुराण के प्रकृतिखंड अध्याय में उल्लेख है कि जहां भगवान शालिग्राम की पूजा होती है वहां भगवान विष्णु के साथ भगवती लक्ष्मी भी निवास करती है।

पुराणों में यह भी लिखा है कि शालिग्राम शिला का जल जो अपने ऊपर छिड़कता है, वह समस्त यज्ञों और संपूर्ण तीर्थों में स्नान के समान फल पा लेता है। जो निरंतर शालिग्राम शिला का जल से अभिषेक करता है, वह संपूर्ण दान के पुण्य तथा पृथ्वी की प्रदक्षिणा के उत्तम फल का अधिकारी बन जाता है। मृत्युकाल में इनके चरणामृत का जलपान करने वाला समस्त पापों से मुक्त होकर विष्णुलोक चला जाता है।

जिस घर में शालिग्राम का नित्य पूजन होता है उसमें वास्तु दोष और बाधाएं स्वतः समाप्त हो जाती है। पुराणों के अनुसार श्री शालिग्राम जी का तुलसीदल युक्त चरणामृत पीने से भयंकर से भयंकर विष का भी तुरंत नाश हो जाता है।

Shaligram Puja Vidhi

शालिग्राम सात्विकता के प्रतीक हैं। उनके पूजन में आचार-विचार की शुद्धता का विशेष ध्यान रखा जाता है। जिस तरीके से भगवान शिव की मूर्ति पूजा से ज्यादा शिवलिंग पूजा को माना जाता है उसी प्रकार विष्णु की मूर्ति से कहीं ज्यादा उत्तम है शालिग्राम की पूजा करना। प्रतिदिन शालिग्राम को पंचामृत से स्नान कराया जाना चाहिए .

शालिग्राम पर चंदन लगाकर उसके ऊपर तुलसी का एक पत्ता रखा जाता है। बिना तुलसी के शालिग्राम पूजा अधूरी मानी जाती है. जिस घर में शालिग्राम का पूजन होता है उस घर में लक्ष्मी का सदैव वास रहता है। घर में सिर्फ एक ही शालिग्राम की पूजा करना चाहिए।

Shaligram Sila is worshipped worldwide in mostly all Vaisnava Sampradaya(cult) and hindu Devotees Home. Shaligram stone found in ‘Gandaki River’ is lord vishnu himself. There are different types or forms of lord vishnu Shaligram sila which is identified according to specific representation mention in religious scripts. Shaligram is identified by Chakra and with form of lord vishnu. There are many names of lord vishnu. Lord vishnu different names with different characters symbolizes different saligram.

Except Kaligandaki River and Muktinabh in nepal saligram is not obtained in other places.Shaligram can be any shape either big or small. Round or Oval. With specific design or chakra or without it.

About Original Shaligram – Every shaligram found in Muktinath,kaligandaki river is original shaligram either it is found broken,cracked in water itself or not.Hence with religious point of view there is not a mistake of shaligrams sila or rules if shaligrams is found from water as it is.

About the Shaligram(found in gandaki),Shaligram can be with chakra or without it,with holes and without holes,with golden colors and without it,small and big size,with single to many chakra on shaligrams.

Nowadays,original saligram is only attain in trusted person or religious friends,pujari.

Fake Shaligrams

- Nowadays it is found some fake shaligrams too. Fake shaligram refers to handmade designed on original shaligrams or for stones whose are not shaligrams. My study and experience on identifying fakes shaligram sila are as follows .

1 – Fake shaligram in Original shaligrams – This refers to designed on shaligrams or fakes chakras. Shaligram is designed with designed with appearance or possing god with human form on shaligram in some case with help of designs. Other fake shaligram are shaligram with golden polish.Some shaligram is also found fakes whose chakra is made with hand where many duplicate chakra is designed with hand in original shaligrams.

2- Not Shaligram(Real Fakes sila) – Some seller sell Shaligram which is not originally shaligrams. This is made with mud,chemicals,other stones etc. In this chakra is also found designed. This is not a shaligrams of gandaki river. This is made by seller in name of shaligrams.

Identification of Fakes and Original shaligram

It is very great task to devotees to find whether original shaligram or fake shaligram.Hence,this is only main reason where now also many devotees are unknown while having shalgram.

About glued and Pure shaligram – As shaligram is different in all aspects than a normal stones but its weight is similar as stones. Fake Shaligram is mostly found with glued in different parts of Body. Glued shaligram is specially found when shaligram is broken in two parts. While to maintain it is designed again with glued.Some glue shaligram is found when other parts of broken shaligram is joined in other shaligram. Some chakra of Shaligram is also found fake where fake chakra is inserted and glued in original shaligram.The glued on shaligram is mostly identified with only by long experience on shaligram.When we bath continously its glued in slowly turns out.When we keep shaligram on medium hot water for few minutes its glued is turn out. Some devotees and peoples can easily identified with help of eyes for fake shaligrams. Fake shaligram looks like some marks or lines is seen on boundry where two parts is joined and made a single parts.Some people use glued which can be visible with eyes where glued or some chemical on shaligram is seen visiblely.

Golden color shaligram – Some Shaligram is found in gandaki river with golden color or like some pure gold on shaligrams naturally. Golden fake shaligram is found with inserting gold types chemical or color on pure shaligram mostly in chakra parts or body on shaligram.It is very great task to identified polished or golden color shaligram.Only ways to identified is bathing regularly shaligram where slowly all golden color is removed. Some color is not washed by water ,in this case we should take recommendation from known people about removing and collapsing color properties. Some devotee and peoples can identified with help of eyes itself for golden shaligram.Golden shaligram always looks like dark or bold golden apperance which had been appeared naturally where as fake golden shaligram is not similar bold as original one. Fake golden shaligram is divided in to mismatch body parts of saligram where as original is looks suitables. Keeping some minuted on medium hot water and after cleaning on gold part of shaligram with cutton can also help to identified it where fake color is turn out.

Fake chakra and not a shaligram – Some people sell as shaligram which are made from mud,cements,sands etc.These fake shaligram of various material and stone is also designed with fake chakra. These chakra is mostly found which is made using hand.It also looks as similar as shaligram. These types of shaligram doesnot have weight in comparing to Pure shaligram. These shaligram is easily broken when it falls down where as original shaligram doesnot. These fakes shaligram when it brokes it is found on muds form where as original shaligram break in to peices.

Broken shaligram – Broken shaligram are original shaligram which is broken with hand into two peices. Every shaligram have chakra inside shaligram either it is visible or not in physical body of shaligram.Broken shaligram sila can be closed and open.It have balanced shape and size.In Nepal mainly in tourist shop this broken shaligram is found.Its main attraction is that it have gold or beautiful chakra on shaligram.It is mainly done to attract tourist and sometime it is also called Fossil stones. According to religious point of view only not broken shaligram is worshipped in home.

Divya Saligram (Divine maha vishnu Saligrama murti sila)

We can find holy saying,Mahima,Glory and full details About Shaligram in Shastra,Puranam. Most Temples Pujari and Bhaktas in South and north india also say ‘Saligrama’ or ‘Salagrama’ for Shaligram. Hence,we should not be confuse while spelling saligrama or Salagrama. Because all these words meaning is One and Same. The most related topic about Shaligram is mention below.

1 – What is Shaligram or Saligrama?

Sri-Shaligram is pure natural form of ‘Sila’. The word Sila is also known as ‘Murthy’ or ‘Holy Stone’ or ‘Hindu Deities’. So Shaligram is also known as Shaligram sila. Generally while using frequent word it is Said Only Sri Shaligram or Shaligram sila or Saligrama.

In hindu Religion Shaligram is worshiped as manifestations Form of Lord Vishnu. Some of the name of lord vishnu is Narayana and Sri Hari. The worship of Shaligram and lord vishnu is similar. Shaligram sila is form or Avatar or incarnation of lord vishnu as direct protecter and Visible god in Kaliyuga. Shaligram Sila is only prayer or holy stone which is direct symbol of lord vishnu (narayan). Shaligram is Only Available in Mustang District of Nepal. Muktinath,Kaligandaki river and Damodarkunda is situated in Mustang District of nepal which is famous place for Shaligram. Hence,So in Nepal Gandaki river Shaligram is found so sometime Shaligram is also known as Gandaki shaligram by most devotees. Most devotee also says Muktinath shaligram or Muktinabh shaligram because it is only available in Gandaki river and muktinath in Nepal.

The Damodarkunda is most important place for hindu while going shaligram place. Damodarkunda is composed of two words. The two words are Damodar + Kunda. The meaning of Damodar is one of the name of lord vishnu in many names of lord vishnu(narayan) whereas Kunda meaning is Holy water Pond or lake. Shaligram is also available in Damodarkunda. It is said that any one who offer Tulsi leaf in Damodarkunda is offered to Lord vishnu or Sri Shaligram. Many devotee from india and around Nepal also visit here to do Shraddha For Pitri. Shraddha is ritual worship for welfare for Pitris(Passed ancestors).

The DamodarKunda,Muktinath, and Kaligandaki River is only place where Shaligram or Saligrama stone is found. It is situated in highly moutainous temperature(less oxygen area). It is situated in Mustang district of Nepal. The Lord vishnu place(shaligram holy place) is 4 days far from kathmandu by Bus. Kathmandu is capital city of nepal. There is famous Muktinath temple which is dedicated to lord vishnu. Others places of attration are Jwala mai remples etc.

Lord Vishnu Divya Shaligram Worship

- Shaligram is worshipped by both Grihasti and Sanyasi People. Grihasta are Married person where as Sanyasa mean who is not married. Shaligram is only form of lord vishnu who is worshipped by all hindu,vaisnava,hindu Sanatan sampradaya bhaktas(devotee). Worshipping Shaligram daily with lord vishnu puja archana,Mantra,Vidhi to shaligram is hindu and vaisnava daily practice. There is no difference in lord vishnu and shaligram so we should recite lord vishnu(narayana) mantra. One can worship shaligram similar as how we worship lord vishnu in home.

While installing or keeping shaligram in home every one should be very clever and smart. We should bath daily in morning.We should start Lord vishnu Shaligram only after morning bath.We should keep shaligram in neat and clean place. We should also be clever in which leaves to be offered in worship. We should offer Tulasi leaf in worship of shaligram. Tulasi leaves is favourite of lord vishnu. We should never keep shaligram in ground.We should only offer vaisnavite food or naivedya like laddu,banana etc. while offering srishaligram.

Worship of Divya Shaligram removes all Past,present and future Sin of Life. Even by touching shaligram shila removes all their Sin comiited knowingly or unknowingly in life. There is no Value of Gold,Silver in front of Divya Shaligram. Shaligram is only pure in object in entire universe.

Lord vishnu have different names and form.
